- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a fixed-price, sole source task order to the Boeing Company for the purchase of incorporating Mode 5 capabilities into the USN Lot 40 aircraft associated with Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) 6368C3, "Integration of the Mode 5 Interrogator and Transponder Capabilities" under basic ordering agreement (BOA) N00019-11-G-0001. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." Boeing is the designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the F/A-18 aircraft in its various configurations; and as such, is the only known firm with the knowledge, experience, and technical expertise required to accomplish this effort. This announcement is for informational purposes only. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contract the Boeing Company directly.
