Description

WHAT: HHS Category Management Laboratory Support Services Industry Forum WHEN: March 10, 201 6 from 9:30am-1:00pm. WHERE : National Institute of Health (NIH) Natcher Center. The Division of Acquisition will host the Category Management Laboratory Support Industry Forum. LOGISTICAL NEEDS : The Industry Forum will offer breakout sessions for vendors with the participating Operating Divisions (OPDIVS) and Staff Division (STAFFDIV). The OPDIVs/STAFFDIV are the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Indian Health Service (HIS), National Institute of Health (NIH), the Program Support Center (PSC), the Office of Small and Disadvantage Business Utilization (OSDBU). The General Administration Services (GSA) will be invited to discuss Category Management and GSA schedules. Other invites include the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). BACKGROUND : HHS Category Management Laboratory Support Pre-solicitation Industry Forum is a part of the market research HHS is conducting in preparation for establishing a new contracting vehicle for laboratory supplies and equipment under $25K; laboratory equipment over $25K and laboratory testing services for HHS's laboratories across the country. In FY 13, HHS spent approximately $595.5M on laboratory support. The category with the highest spent has historically been laboratory supplies. HHS envisions awarding one or more Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs), possibly against existing GSA schedules, to support this requirement. In establishing this new solution HHS seeks a win-win partnership with industry. HHS wants to identify the most cost-effective ways to meet HHS' requirements, with minimal burden to our supplies. In order to do so HHS wants to collect and integrate industry feedback in our solicitation. HHS is particularly interested in hearing from small businesses, large businesses, original equipment manufacturers, and firms in other socio-economic categories in response to the invitation. The laboratory support NAICS codes for these supplies include but are not limited to 334516, 423840, 423450 and 423490 and the PSCs are 6640, 6515, 6505, 6650 6640, J066, 6630, W066, Q301, and AJ5.
