- Description
- The Library of Congress intends to digitize items from the Sigmund Freud Archives collection. Materials to be digitized include loose manuscripts that are approximately 10 x 16 inches, photographs, photographic film, and bound volumes. These items will be scanned at a resolution of 400 dpi, 24-bit color or higher. Opening angles of the bound volumes may range from 90 to 180 degrees. There are 35mm b&w film strips that must be captured. One image of the entire strip will be scanned as a 16-bit greyscale image at approximately 1400 dpi. Each frame will also be scanned as a 16-bit greyscale image at 3600 dpi and delivered as a separate image file. The contractor's scanner(s) must meet or exceed FADGI 3-star performance levels for all material types being scanned. Sample target files may be required prior to contract award. Once the project begins, the contractor will be required to submit targets on a daily basis. The total count of images for the project is approximately 66,400. All scanning will occur in the James Madison building of the Library of Congress. The Library will provide space for the contractor scan station(s). Contractors will be able to perform post-processing activities at their site within the U.S.A., if so desired. All images will be delivered to the Library on portable magnetic drives provided by the contractor.
