- RFI This is a Request for Information (RFI) and not a solicitation. The Air Force Research Laboratory Sensors Directorate (AFRL/RY) would like to investigate the feasibility of transferring and maturing AFRL's AlGaN/GaN mm-wave MMIC process to a domestic DoD/commercial foundry to ensure DoD access to broad-band, highly efficient MMICs. This would include the maturation of this process to a Technology Readiness Level of 6 and a Manufacturing Readiness Level of 6. AFRL seeks to obtain information from US foundries and device designers concerning their interest in the development of an open AlGaN/GaN foundry utilizing AFRL's (or similar) mm-wave MMIC process. The Government anticipates those who respond to this request for information to either be focused on GaN MMIC foundry or GaN MMIC design.
