Description
Come to the Chicago District to hear about our FY 16 and 17 program opportunities, and to see our existing electric barrier technology. This may prepare you for potential contracting opportunities at the Brandon Road Lock and Dam. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Chicago District, has a mission to provide valued, world class leadership, engineering services, and management capabilities to the diverse stakeholders and partners within the greater Chicago metropolitan area, and the nation. The Chicago District is responsible for developing water resources in the Chicago metro area of 5,000 square miles, and a population of 9.1 million people. The projects focus on flood risk management and storm damage reduction, navigation, aquatic ecosystem restoration, emergency management and interagency and international services. We will lead a visit to the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal electric barrier project site on January 29th. 28 JAN: Please arrive at 08:30 AM to gain entry to the conference area and to socialize and network. The opportunity briefs will begin promptly at 9:00 AM CST, and conclude at 5:00 PM. 29 JAN: The Chicago District will provide mandatory round-trip transportation to the project site.
