Custom Portable Storage Trailers Custom Portable Storage Trailers Sources Sought/Request for Information: Open 12/04/15 - Close 01/15/16 Synopsis THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI No. NGA-16-RFI-0009 is issued in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 52.215 "Request for Information for Planning Purposes" is solely for information and planning purposes; it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP. Furthermore, those who respond to this RFI should not anticipate feedback with regards to its submission; other than acknowledgment of receipt - if a request for an acknowledgement is requested by the submitter. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service. The National Gallery of Art (NGA) is not seeking proposals at this time. Responders are advised that the NGA will not pay any costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP. The information provided in this RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the NGA. All submissions become the property of the NGA, and will not be returned. Introduction The NGA Office of Procurement and Contracts (APC) is performing market research for the Office of Facilities Management (AFM) to locate custom storage trailers ("sea container") specifically out fitted for the securing storage and transportation of (24) custom fabricated glass and metal lamp post. NGA is seeking written responses to assist AFM with identifying potential sources that are interested and capable of performing the custom storage trailers as described in Section A. Requirements Description. The NGA is seeking to gain awareness of capabilities, determine interested parties, and support the formulation of an acquisition strategy an anticipated future solicitation. Interested parties are encouraged to submitted comments and questions for this requirements. Section A. Requirements Description A.1. Lamp Post Storage Trailer The National Gallery of Art seeks to locate suppliers with the capabilities to supply a custom 20' portable steel storage container ("sea container") specifically outfitted for the secure storage and transportation of (24) custom fabricated glass and metal lampposts. (See picture page 3) Container shall be Cargo Worthy, 100% Wind and Water Tight, with factory-applied, multi-layer exterior grade paint finish. Container shall be constructed such that it can be loaded for transportation onto a flatbed truck using a crane or forklift; additionally it shall be provided with integral wheels to allow transport via "roll-off" type flatbed truck. The interior shall be designed with an internal structure of support such that the light poles can be secured in the container without being subject to damaging vibration while in transit. The final product shall include all necessary racks, shelves, brackets, bracing, foam padding, etc. to insure that the equipment is protected from damage during loading and transport. A.2. General Storage Trailer The National Gallery of Art seeks locate suppliers with the capabilities to supply a custom 20' portable steel storage container ("sea container") for the transport and storage of miscellaneous equipment of various sizes and shapes. Container shall be Cargo Worthy, 100% Wind and Water Tight, with factory-applied, multi-layer exterior grade paint finish. Container shall be constructed such that it can be loaded for transportation onto a flatbed truck using a crane or forklift; additionally it shall be provided with integral wheels to allow transport via "roll-off" type flatbed truck. Interior shall be provided with internal cargo tie-down hardware (E-track, "D-Ring", etc.) to allow for the securing material during transport. A.3. Specifications Lamp Post Storage Pole Trailer Section B. Submission Instructions and Conditions The Gallery welcomes responses that may assist us in better understanding the availability of Custom Storage Trailers, in preparing our formal solicitation, and in identifying qualified venders in this initiative. After review of submitted materials, the Gallery may contact respondents to further discuss their submittals and or invite online or in-person demonstrations of their offerings. Responses should be addressed via email covering topics described in Section B Requirements, to Ms. Denise B. Gilson at db-gilson@nga.gov. Responses should be delivered no later than 3:00 PM Eastern Daylight Savings time on January 15, 2015. Initial written responses should be simple to include the following information below: B.1 Cover Sheet Please include a cover sheet identifying the organization responding and providing a point of contact, with email and telephone number, to whom questions or clarifications regarding the response should be directed. If this point of contact is not technical, the cover sheet should provide a separate technical point of contact. B.2 Company Overview (maximum 2 pages) The Gallery is looking for a company with the technologies and skill to provide the Custom Storage Trailers. Please provide an overview of your firm and its capabilities, including its core business, location, and size. You should describe your firm's background, years in business, and range of services provided as applicable to this RFI. Please indicate the locations of your offices, contact representative, telephone number, and email address. Size of business, Large or small business, NAIC Code, DUNS Number, etc. Please identify your client base (current and over the past 3 years) that is similar in scope and complexity to the Gallery's project described this document. In addition, please describe the capabilities and skillsets. If you don't have these capabilities in your organization, please provide information about your partners who can provide these services and their location In this case, please also specify if you worked with these partners in the past and what type of projects. B.3 Pricing Please provide your pricing model for the product. In addition, please provide information about your typical installation/configuration approach, its timeframe in weeks and approximate total cost
