This is not a Pre-solicitation or Solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought notice only. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to gain market knowledge of potential businesses to include large business sources, small business sources and their size classifications; HUBZone, 8(a), Small Disadvantage Business, Woman Owned Business, Veteran Owned Business, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business relative to NAICS Code 621111, with a small business size standard not to exceed $11.0 million in gross annual receipts. Responses to this sources sought synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate determinations about potential sources only. No solicitation is currently available at this time. After review of the responses to this sources sought announcement, a synopsis and/or solicitation announcement may be published at a later time. Description of Services: Onsite board certified nephrologist services are needed for the Wichita VAMC located in Wichita, Kansas. Nephrologist services include, but are not limited to: provide emergency in-person or via telephone consultations as requested by VA Staff Physicians; the nephrologist will provide documentation of care provided in the form of comprehensive typed or dictated notes in the clinical record within 48 hours. Dictated notes will be input into the VA computerized system; nephrologists shall be available for one ½ day clinic per week between regular business hours (8:00 am through 4:30pm) Monday through Friday (or any variation of normal hours which the contractor utilizes to accomplish routine patient care). Nephrologist must be present at the VA and must actually perform the required services as specified in order for payment of service authorized; contractor may be asked to provide on-call services under the contract. The contractor shall not provide concurrent on-call duties with any other medical facility while on call for the Wichita VAMC; on-going teaching program shall be offered to patients to allow them to gain knowledge of the following: a self-care concept, normal kidney structure and function, causes of kidney failure, effects of kidney failure on the body, medication regimen, dietary regimen, circulatory access, hemodialysis/continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) principles and procedures; and the Nephrologist may be scheduled to provide on call services for emergency care. Contract award period of performance will be for one (1) base year plus four (4) one-year option periods.
