- Description
- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for annual equipment service contract on model number P16+ UTID 7091797. NASA/GSFC intends to award one, fixed price, purchase order with a base period of one year after the award date, and would include two one-year options to be renewed at the discretion of the Government for the subsequent years. NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the services from KLA-Tencor Corporation pursuant to Far 13.106 for the acquisition of supplies or services determine to be reasonably available from one source. The unique technical qualifications to perform work on this equipment are only offered by this vendor, the original equipment manufacturer, who has the complete knowledge of the electrical and mechanical workings of this equipment. This know-how applies to the interface of the various components and systems, and offers a field service that no other vendor possesses. This equipment is still fully supported by the original manufacturer and thus their mechanical and electrical components are not available to third part vendors. This company is the only qualified vendor to perform this work. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may E-mail their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Dorothy.s.baskin@nasa.gov not later than 12:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications ARE NOT acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
