Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWCWD), China Lake, CA is soliciting on a full and open competitive basis for 86 each Flight Termination System Batteries (FTSB). The Government intends to award a firm fixed price (FFP) contract. Since FTSB is a critical subcomponent of a Flight Termination System (FTS), received FTSB must be a form, fit, and function drop-in replacement for the current battery supplied by Eagle Picher (Part Number EAP-12194). Key requirements for acceptable FTSB are but not limited to the following specifications: Size = 3 in dia. X 3.5 in L; Power Output = 28V; 0.8A starting at 1 sec and running until 920 seconds after activation; Maintenance = None over life of battery; Weight = Max 3.0 lbs; Temperature Range =operating -54C to +72C; non-operating -40C to +72C; Operating Acceleration Environments = Vert -24 to +14 G; Lat + 14 G; Long + 3 G; Non-operating Acceleration Environments = Vert -24 to +14 G; Lat + 16 G; Long + 18 G FTSB must pass application specific use reviewed by Government Range Safety and must be qualified to meet or exceed requirements of RCC-319-99. Qualified FTSB units will be contingent upon acknowledgement and acceptance from Range Safety. The solicitation anticipated release date is 1 October 2015. The delivery date of all items is required by 31 August 2016. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency.
