Description
The Beneficiary & Family Centered Care (BFCC) Oversight & Review Center (ORC) has been awarded on August 31st, 2015, to Avar Consulting, Inc. (1395 Piccard Drive, STE 200, Rockville, MD, 20850.) The period of performance is 12 months, starting September 1, 2015, with 4 option years. The total amount of the contract is $20,200,715. The contract number is HHSM-500-2015-00280C. The purpose of this action is to competitively award a contract for a base year + 4 option years entittled: "Beneficiary and Family Centered Care Oversight & Review Center (BFCC ORC)" which supports the QIO 11th SOW. The BFCC ORC is to improve Medicare beneficiary health care, health and reduce cost by focusing on continuous improvement across the BFCC-QIO Program by providing actionable findings regarding operations, performance, outcomes, and impact of the overall BFCC-QIO services. The purpose of this contract is to procure expert healthcare quality improvement technical support services for the Beneficiary and Family Centered Care Oversight & Review Center (BFCC ORC). The BFCC ORC serves as a driver of the CCSQ/QIG strategic vision and goals and will assist in creating widespread quality improvement in the QIO program by creating an organizing structure that will assist CMS determine the collective effectiveness of the BFCC component of the QIO Program in improving the quality of health care of 50 million Medicare beneficiaries. The BFCC ORC shall provide oversight of the BFCC QIO, advise CMS on opportunities for improving the program, identify those practices for possible spread and dissemination amongst the QIOs and expand the science of quality improvement and waste reduction. Additionally, the BFCC ORC will add to the QIO's program of knowledge on what works well with regards to providing direct assistance to Medicare beneficiaries. The BFCC ORC supports the work of QIOs as it works to improve the quality of care available to Medicare beneficiaries in the U.S. health care system. Specifically, the BFCC ORC shall focus on consistency across reviews, recommend initiatives to improve case review quality and administer satisfaction survey to achieve CMS's aims of better health care, better health, and lower healthcare costs through improvement for all Medicare beneficiaries.
