- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ, intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with Joining Technologies, Inc. (JTI) of East Granby, CT, for the procurement of four (4) Batteries and one (1) Charger. The JTI Battery is the only part that provides the combination of voltage (48V), energy capacity (1.4KWh), peak and continuous current (60A; 9.25A) in a 21 inch x 7.7 inch x 6.05 inch, water, dust, and shock resistant housing that is appropriately sized to physically interface and provide the necessary power for the Government’s requirement. JTI is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the Batteries and Charger, and the Government does not own the technical data to permit full and open competition. The Government intends to procure the above items under the authority of FAR 13.5. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
