- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division, on behalf of the Biosystems and Biomaterials Division, intends to negotiate with Coherent, Inc., 5100 Patrick Henry Drive, anta Clara, CA 95054 on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR Subsection 13.106-1(b)(1) solicitation from a Sngle Source, for a Service contract maintenance for a (1) one year service contract for maintenance and repair for a Coherent Chameleon Vision II (System S/N: GPD. 1195413.10180) The sole source justification is based on the OEM is the sole manufacturer and source provider for all parts and repair services on all Coherent equipment. No third party is licensed to provide service on any of their laser products. A purchase order to acquire maintenance will be negotiated and issued on or about August 8, 2015 for a 12-month performance period plus (2) 12 month option periods. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Inquiries will only be accepted via e-mail to janice.moten@nist.gov. The government will consider responses received by 12:00PM, EST, September 8, 2015. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. This Notice of Intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a request for competition. No telephone requests will be honored. The NAICS Code is 811219 with a size standard of $20.5 M.
