- Salient Characteristics for Portable Electronic Device Countermeasure Boxes Sources Sought for Portable Electronic Device Countermeasure Boxes Washington Headquarters Services Acquisition Directorate on behalf of the Office of the Deputy Secretary of Defense, intends to procure Guardian G2 and Sentinel Tabletop Portable Electronic Device (PED) Countermeasure cellphone boxes. These devices fully address all TEMPEST, audio and video technical espionage threats to PEDs. Guardian G2 and Sentinel PED countermeasure boxes are the only PEDs that have been approved by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) for use in Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) against all three threats (video, audio and RF transmission).
