Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This is a Sources Sought Synopsis announcement; market survey for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS. The NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk, Contracting Department, Philadelphia Office announces a Request for Information (RFI) related to the purchase of the Mark 6 Recording System and all Components, Hardware, and Software associated with the system in support of the U.S. Naval Observatory and its continued research on Earth Orientation. The requirement includes CLIN1: (Qty: 6) Complete 16Gbps MARK 6 System, 128TB, Optical NIC, Cables, trays. CLIN2: (Qty: 6) MARK 6 System Chassis, Intel i7 3930K, 64GB RAM 500GB OS Disk, LSI HBA (2) (Part# 020031667). CLIN3: (Qty: 12) Network Interface Card “ Optical (Part# 100916025). CLIN4: (Qty: 6) Mark 6 Expansion Chassis, PS 400W (Part#020031668). CLIN5: (Qty: 6) Cable Tray (Part# 020031672). CLIN6: (Qty: 48) MARK 6 Disk Module Cable (Two required for each operating module) (Part# 020031677). CLIN7: (Qty: 120) 32TB Mark 6 Storage Module with shipping box/foam. CLIN8: Shipping/Handling (3 systems/96 storage modules to Washington DC/3 systems/24 storage modules to Hawaii). This Request for Information (RFI) is a Government effort in accordance with Part 10 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation to conduct Market Research to support potential future planning initiatives through data collection. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a solicitation (Request for Proposal or Request for Quotations) or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Furthermore, we are not at this time seeking proposals. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the responding partys expense. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked PROPRIETARY will be handled accordingly. The Government shall not be liable or suffer any consequential damage for any proprietary information not identified. Proprietary information or trade secrets shall be clearly identified. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the U.S. Government to form a binding contract or agreement. The Navy will not be obligated to pursue any particular acquisition alternative as a result of the RFI. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. Not responding to the RFI does not preclude participation in any future solicitation, if one is issued. The submission of this information is for planning purposes only and is not be construed as a commitment by the Government to procure any supplies/services, or for the Government to pay for the information received. No solicitation document exists at this time. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of various interested business including but not limited to members of the Small Business Community such as Section 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUB-Zone), and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) to compete and perform a Firm Fixed Price Contract. Responses to this posting shall provide a summary of their company ™s capabilities including organization name, address, description of facilities, personnel, and past experience; and a point of contact, telephone number, facsimile number, email address, business size, DUNs number, and CAGE Code. All submissions must be received by 5pm EST on 30 July 2015. Responses to the Sources Sought are required to be provided by email to Mr. Adam Hester at email address adam.hester@navy.mil If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/ and the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) website at www.neco.navy.mil.
