- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY - This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. Solicitations are not available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the United States Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the United States Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the United States Government. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI). It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement. The Army Contracting Center - Rock Island is conducting market research in order to determine the availability and capability of companies to perform a removal of an old water cooled chiller system and installation of a new water cooled chiller system in Building 212 at Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL. The present system includes a 300 ton chiller with cooling tower, a 150 ton chiller with cooling tower, eight (8) condenser water pumps, and nine (9) chilled water pumps. This effort will include all materials and labor necessary to remove the existing system and install a complete 600 ton capacity Chiller system with equal size capacity chillers. The effort will also include any additional equipment necessary to achieve a significant reduction in Energy Usage and Operational Cost. This effort will include the disassembly, removal, and proper disposition of the existing equipment. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/CONCERNS: Contractors must have experience involving large mechanical refrigeration equipment. Please include the following in your Capability Package: 1) List of capabilities and/or experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact with their phone numbers, and an explanation of the relevancy of the project (limit to 5 single-sided pages); 2) Chiller selection shall be based upon a nominal capacity of 300 tons each with a minimum IPLV of 4.50. 3) Each supplier is invited to submit preliminary information on multiple chiller configurations and efficiencies. 4) For each Chiller selection, the suppler shall provide the following information: a) IPLV Rating b) kW per Ton efficiency at 85 deg F entering condenser water temperature and: (1) 25% capacity (2) 50% capacity (3) 75% capacity (4) 94% capacity (5) 100% capacity c) Preliminary Physical information d) Budgetary Pricing Please provide information to Lynn Baker, lynn.d.baker8.civ@mail.mil, no later than COB 29 Jul 2015.
