- The contractor will provide trace Sample Analysis for 29 elements,(Si, Al, Ti, Fe, Mn, Ca, Mg, K, Na, P, Sc, V, Ni, Cr, Ba, Sr, Zr, Y, Rb, Nb, Ga, Cu, Zn, Pb, La, Ce, Th, Nd, U) and Lost on Ignition, as required for the USGS Volcano Science Center, Vancouver, WA. The US Geological Survey (USGS) intends to negotiate an Indefinite Delivery/ Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract (reference FAR Parts 12 and 13), on a sole source basis with Washington State University (WSU), Pullman, WA. WSU previously supplied data permits seamless integration of new data procured under this pending award into the existing databases of each geologist going back decades. Excellent comparability of the data from year-to-year in our multi-year projects is imperative; this is best accomplished by obtaining analyses from a single laboratory over a long period of time. Therefore, Washington State University is the only potential provider of these services. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Responses must include complete description of services to be provided, containing sufficient technical information, to allow agency analysis to establish bona fide capabilities.
