- Address: The site is located about 24 miles northeast of Morganton, NC. From I-40 East, take Exit 100. Turn left onto NC-181 North. Travel 10.7 miles - turn right onto Brown Mountain Beach Rd (after 4.1 miles, the road name changes to Adako Rd.), travel 5 miles, then turn left onto Brown Mountain Beach Rd. (SR-1328). Travel 8.5 miles - turn left onto Edgemont Rd. (in a short distance, Mortimer Campground will be on the right). Travel 3.8 miles to Project Site. Look for stakes & orange/white flagging at inlet of rock culvert on the left and slide on the right (in 3.2+ miles you will cross over a posted bridge, this is the approximate location of Forest Service boundary which is not signed)., Asheville, North Carolina, 28801, United States
