- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) issued a synopsis on 15 June 2015 publicizing the intent to issue a sole-source solicitation under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to VT Halter Marine in Pascagoula, MS for the detail design and fabrication for one (1) Moon Pool Launch and Recovery System (MLARS), consisting of a monorail crane, bridge crane, and Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) Handling System in accordance with the specifications and drawings. In accordance with the recently revised PGI 206.302-1, prior to using the authority at FAR 6.302-1, a request for information or a sources sought notice shall be issued or waived. This request for information is a follow up to the previous synopsis to ensure adequate opportunity for industry comment. Responses shall be submitted via email to the Contracting Officer at roxie.thomas@navy.mil. The deadline to submit a response is 1200 on Wednesday 29 July 2015. This request for information is for market research and planning purposes only. It does not constitute a solicitation and shall not be construed as a commitment by the government to award a contract from responses to this announcement. Any information submitted by interested parties is strictly voluntary and no monetary compensation will be provided for response preparation.
