- Description
- The Statement of Work (SOW) for this Solicitation. Please read the SOW carefully and provide proposals that reflect an understanding of the content and requirement of this SOW. The Cochran Fellowship Program's Latin America and Caribbean Region is requesting the design and delivery of a training program for (8) Fellows from Brazil: (1) CEO/Owner from the Galuñion Consulting Company, (1) Marketing Manager from Ajinomoto of Brazil Company, (1) Food Supervisor from Sakura Nakaya Foods, (1) Economist from the Brazilian Association of Food Industries, (1) Marketing Manager from Ingredion Company, (1) Sales and Marketing Director from Aryzta Foods Company of Brazil, (1) Food Service Coordinator from Castelo Foods Company, and (1) International Trade Manager from Fast & Food Imports, Logistics, and Distribution Company. The training program should provide the Fellows with an understanding of the U.S. food service sector and the availability of U.S. food service products. The Fellows represent universities in Brazil and mid-size Brazilian food service companies. The Brazilian food processing and food service sectors are growing rapidly and as a result, there is a need for ingredients and food products. Brazil has, in the past, looked to the European Union for their food service import needs because Brazil is not familiar with the United States food service products, ingredients, quality, and availability. The training program should include visits food service trade events, meetings with private sector food companies that supply products to the international market, participation in site visits to food service facilities, and learning about logistics and food service product distribution in the United States. The goal of this training program is to help Fellows from Brazil understand the food service sector in the United States and increase the potential for U.S. food service exports to Brazil. The Fellows would like to visit any, if not all, of the following: food service plants, fast casual restaurants, food service establishments with bakeries, Asian restaurant chains, food ingredients suppliers, Sysco/US Foods, ConAgra, Whole Foods, and/or Wegmans. The Fellows would also like to attend or participate in a trade show/meeting, like NRA or the NRA Congress.
