- Bearings NIIN Info for RFI RFI for Bearings This notice is issued for informational and planning purposes only. This announcement is a request for information (RFI) and does not constitute a guarantee or otherwise commit the Government, in any way, to solicit or award a contract now or in the future. No solicitation is available at this time. DLA Aviation is seeking information in an attempt to determine feasible strategic support options that will increase automation, improve efficiencies, and enhance support to our customers. Presently, DLA Aviation uses a multitude of sources, storage facilities, and delivery methods to satisfy its customer demands for bearing items. DLA intends to engage with industry experts and learn about their best practices in an effort to obtain market information. We are charged with implementing a more automated solution which assures readiness, safety and efficiency. Ultimately, DLA Aviation's goal is to effectively reduce lead-times, reduce costs (both material and administrative) and improve our support to the Warfighter. At this time, this initiative contains 187 DLA-managed National Stock Numbers (NSNs) in Federal Stock Class (FSCs) 3120, Bearings Plain, Unmounted. A baseline of fabrics commodity support, market research, analysis on alternatives, and feasible strategic support options will be documented. RFI responses are due back to DLA by close of business, July 27, 2015.
