- Description
- The USDA Forest Service has a requirement for Road Repair on the National Forests of North Carolina Road #45, Wagauga Turnpike, located on the Grandfather Ranger District, Caldwell county, Nebo, NC. Work on this project includes, but is not limited to, Erosion Control, Culvert Installation, Roadway Reconditioning and Surfacing, Ditch Reconstruction, Excavation and Embankment, RipRap Embankment Construction, and Seeding. Project Magnitude: Between $25,000 and $100,000 This procurement is set aside 100% for Small Business. Site Visit is scheduled for August 4 at 10:30AM at the project site. Directions: 24 miles northeast of Morganton, NC. From I-40 East, take exit 100, Turn left onto NC-181 North. Travel 10.7 Miles, Turn Right only Brown Mountain Beach Road (after 4.1 miles the raod name changes to Adako Rd). Travel 5 miles, then turn left on Brown Mountain Beach Road (SR 1328). Travel 8.5 miles, turn left onto Edgemont Rd. (in a short distance, Mortimer Campground will be on the right) Travel 3.8 miles to Project Site. There are stakes and Orange/white flagging at the inlet of road culvert on the left and the slide on the Right. (in about 3.2 miles you will cross over a posted bridge, this is the approximate location of Forest Service Boundary, which is not signed) Cliff Northrop will be managing the Site Visit/Pre-bid meeting.
