Description
The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) in support of US Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) intends to procure a Filtermax F5 Multimode Microplate Reader and Integrated Beckman Coulter Robotic Software Solution without competition as prescribed in FAR 6.302-1. Specifically, the government will purchase these items from Beckman Coulter, 250 S. Kraemer Blvd, Mail Station E2.SE.08, Brea, CA 92821. This procurement is to replace the failed spectrophotometer component in the Biomek NXP automated robotic reactivation assay hardware in use at USAMRICD. The replacement component (available through Beckman-Coulter) is the direct replacement for the failed component. The software integration of the new device into the Biomek NXP system is required because of software control differences between the DTX-880 and the Filtermax F5 units. Only Beckman-Coulter offers robot software to integrate the new device properly. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334516 and the size standard of 500. This announcement fulfills the synopsis requirements under FAR 5.102(a)(6) and 5.203(a). USAMRAA intends to publish a solicitation no sooner than 7 days after publishing this synopsis. This Special Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. If no written responses are received by the date listed below, which reflects at least 7 days after the publication of this notice, the solicitation will be issued as brand name only. All questions and responses concerning this notice shall be emailed to Darrell Beaver at darrell.l.beaver4.civ@mail.mil. Interested concerns must identify their capability in writing to the above email address listed above no later than 4:00 PM ET, 21 July 2015.
