- The Calaveras Ranger District, Stanislaus National Forest, intents to award a Firm Fixed Price contract for plantation thinning to enhance the general health and productivity of plantations by reducing susceptibility to insect, diseases, and drought related mortality by promoting individual tree growth and vigor. Unit 1 consists of 29 Acres of plantation thinning of trees between 4.0" DBH and 30.0" DBH (saw timber units) and Unit 2 consists of 60 acres of plantation thinning of trees between 4.0" DBH and 16.0" DBH (biomass units) The project is located on the Stanislaus National Forest, Calaveras Ranger District. Directions from Hathaway Pines, California: travel northeast on Highway 4 to Black Springs Road (7N23), continue on 7N23 to the project area. The project area is located in sections 32, 33, & 34, T7N, R16E, MDM. Road 7N23 is accessible to passenger cars. Other project area roads vary between native surface, rocked, and paved. Set Aside WOSB Solicitaiton is estimated to be posted by July 17, 2015.
