- This announcement serves as a Sources Sought synopsis issued for market research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. This Sources Sought is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation nor is this notice a request for quotations. DO NOT submit a quote or proposal in response to this synopsis. For the purpose of this acquisition, the North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 334519 and the size standard is 500 employees. The proposed contract will be firm fixed price. It is this agency's intention to do an unrestricted acquisition unless enough qualified small businesses are located with serious intentions to propose on our requirement allowing for a set-aside. Small businesses capable of fulfilling this requirement are encouraged to apply. The purpose of this notice is to identify companies, in particular small business socio-economic categories capable and qualified of providing a single-source equipment purchase of one digital controller and its requisite supporting equipment for the United States Air Force Academy. The minimum salient characteristics for this item are listed below: Digital controller and its requisite supporting equipment salient characteristics Includes a computer loaded with the appropriate software, cabling, installation, and training. The digital controller is the brains of a hydraulic force generation system for the static testing of structures. It is the interface that sends the appropriate digital signal to hydraulic pump and manifold components to generate a specific force from a hydraulic ram. The salient characteristics of this purchase is that it must be a complete digital controller system capable of integrating (without modification) and running existing MTS components of a force generation system for static testing system. Existing MTS-brand components are to be integrated by this purchase include a hydraulic power unit (pump), a hydraulic service manifold, and two hydraulic actuators. The system must include a two-channel digital controller, a computer system loaded with the appropriate controller software to run the system, and cabling to interconnect all components. Additionally, the purchase should include the installation and integration of the system, which includes calibration of the existing MTS actuators and training for operating the system. Interested businesses shall provide the following information: 1. Company name, mailing address, cage code, DUNS numbers, point of contact, telephone number and e-mail address. 2. Business size status, e.g., 8(a), HUBZone, Woman/Women Owned or Service Disabled Veteran-Owned, small business, large business, etc. 3. Anticipated delivery date. Delivery is FOB Destination to USAF Academy, CO 80840. If your firm is capable and qualified to provide the digital controller and its requisite supporting equipment, respond in writing to Brian Finerty, Contracting Officer.
