- Synopsis, Fire Safety Corrections, US EPA, Cincinnati, OH Fire Safety Corrections The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Acquisition Management (OAM), Office of Administration and Resources Management (OARM) has a requirement for a contract to provide fire safety corrections for US Environmental Protection Agency facilities located within the Cincinnati, OH area. This acquisition will be subject to full and open competition and will be processed in accordance with FAR Part 15. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220. Award will be made on a ¿Lowest Price Technically Acceptable ¿ basis. Andrew W. Breidenbach Environmental Research Center (AWBERC) Facility This work will consist of adding a fire protection system throughout the B2 level. The fire protection contractor shall coordinate with Boiler Replacement Project contractor for all piping and equipment installed in the similar areas of work. In the north part of B1, Room B62, the work is to install piping and upright heads beneath equipment platform and connect to the existing main. The work in the constant temperature rooms, which includes Rooms 361, 463, 560, and 660, is that the piping needs to extend down to a new dry pendent sprinkler head where the deflector is below the grated ceiling. Child Care Center, AWBERC Facility The work will consist of adding fire protection to the Child Care Center located at AWBERC. There is to be a new fire main added to the building from the water main as well as a new sprinkler riser. Contractor must coordinate connection to the water main with Cincinnati Water Works. There will also be a sprinkler system added throughout the building, which will include sprinkler heads in every room to abide by NFPA policies. Center Hill Facility The work will consist of connecting to the existing sprinkler riser and adding new pipes to reach out to the Kirby Building. In the main building the piping will be installed above the existing ceiling and once the pipe reaches the exterior of the building the piping will be installed underground. New sprinkler heads will be added in the Kirby Building. There will also be a dry sprinkler system extended from the Kirby Lab into the Trailer for new sprinkler heads. Test & Evaluation Facility This work will consist of adding five (5) new sprinkler heads to reach the Environment Chamber Area. There will also need to be fifteen (15) new sprinkler heads added to the elevated platform. Three (3) more sprinkler heads will need to be added in the Break Room. All of this work will be connected to the existing main in the building. A pre-proposal conference, including an organized site visit, is currently scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 9:30 AM ET. The site visit will include the AWBERC and day care facilities in the morning and Center Hill and T&E facilities in the afternoon. All facilities are located in Cincinnati, OH. You must register in writing through the Contract Specialist identified below in order to attend the conference/site visit. Registrations will be accepted until 4:00 pm (ET) Friday, June 26, 2015. Requests to attend the conference/site visit after this date and time may not be honored. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be posted to the FedConnect website, https://www.fedconnect.net/, on or about June 20, 2015.
