The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC), Port Hueneme, CA is seeking new energy storage technologies to power mobile containerized living unit (CLU) interior air conditioning and lighting. Energy is provided by solar and wind technologies. Energy storage system should be able to operate in various extreme climate conditions without needing additional protection (separate structure, ventilation, heat control, etc.). This is a market survey to identify commercially available energy storage systems such as cutting edge battery technology and non-traditional energy storage such as hydrogen energy storage. The dimensions of the energy storage system should be small enough to be shipped in a standard shipping container. The specific criteria for energy storage are to be able to provide 1 to 2 kW for approximately 8 hours. Interested sources should submit any information relating to this announcement in writing via e-mail to william.hepler@navy.mil (contracts POC) and david.chavez1@navy.mil (technical POC).
