Description
The purpose of this notice is to inform interested parties that the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue an order to Raytheon Missile Systems, Tucson, Arizona, to analyze the safety factors of the Tomahawk Block IV All-Up-Round (AUR) Inlet Covers to provide Operational Fleet Guidance for the Virginia Class Block III Submarine in all sea-keeping conditions defined by the Probability of Successful Launch (POSL) Analysis. The analysis shall include the modeling and simulation of the POSL analysis as well as the Inlet Cover Loading Analysis, and continued data collection in support of the Independent Verification Test Report. This order will be placed under the existing Raytheon Corporate Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-10-G-0006. The effort contracted under this order is for the continued support for the Virginia Payload Tube (VPT) development for Virginia Class Block III Submarines. RMS is the only known source that possesses the knowledge, capability, and expertise of the VPT and the Tomahawk Block IV AUR design, operation requirements, required to successfully provide these engineering efforts in an accurate and timely manner to meet the required Government schedule for continued Fleet support of this critical war-fighting capability without duplication of costs. Parties interested in subcontracting opportunities may contact Raytheon Missile Systems. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation, which will be considered by the agency. The data associated with the VPT is export controlled and is not available to foreign sources or representatives. The estimated contract period of performance for this order is three (3) months.
