- Description
- The United States Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), the Mine Warfare Program Office (PMS495), acting through Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technical Division has requirements to develop an underwater weapons system acquisition/procurement program that provides underwater weapons systems (including authentic foreign mines) for Research Development Test & Evaluation ( RDT&E) of underwater systems and mine countermeasures systems. Technical guidance will be provided by NSWC IHEODTD (Indian Head) and NSWC Panama City (PC). The requirement is for authentic underwater weapons systems and underwater weapons systems components including (but not limited to) land, surf zone, very shallow water, shallow water and deep water mines, and also for technical expertise in development and testing of underwater weapons and underwater weapons systems. This type of mine acquisition requires dedicated and experienced personnel with broad and specific Naval ordnance background, as well as prior experience with Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition protocols. In addition, it is essential that personnel are well versed in the processes and methods involved in the logistics of certifying and transporting energetic material from Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) locations to Continental United States (CONUS) locations. The anticipated contract will have a base year and four - one year options. The contract will be procured as a Multiple Award - IDIQ.
