Description
THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES. THE VA MEDICAL CENTER LAKE CITY, FLORIDA IS SOLICITING PROPOSALS FROM QUALIFIED AND VERIFIED SDVOSB'S FOR PROJECT 573A4-12-601, "UPGRADE WALK-IN FREEZERS" The NAICS code for this project is 238220/ Size Standard is $15 million. Magnitude of Construction Cost range is $100,000-$500,000 PROJECT 573A4-12-601, "UPGRADE WALK-IN FREEZERS" Work includes all labor, tools, materials, equipment, general construction, alterations, and supervision necessary to preform upgrades the following walk-in freezers/coolers in the following locations: "Building 64: 1st floor, Dietetics Kitchen - 2 coolers. "Building 64: Basement, 3 coolers and 2 freezers. "Building 82: Basement, 1 cooler and 1 freezer. Work includes: "Remove existing evaporators and piping for all freezers and coolers and replace with new evaporators and piping. "Remove all existing compressor valves and replace with new compressor valves that are compatible with currently used refrigerant oils. "Replace all the existing floor drains in the coolers and freezers. "Remove existing compressors, motors and controls for the freezers and coolers and replace with a Para Loop system that uses a medium temperature circuit and a low temperature circuit sized to accommodate refrigeration and freezer loads. "Perform all testing and balancing on the coolers and freezers to ensure that equipment is running in optimal condition according to the VA guidelines. "Install new control system for the coolers and freezers that can function at the required temperature, moisture and humidity settings for the geographical area per VA guidelines. "Remove current defrost system and replace with hot gas defrost. "Guard and protect all exposed utility/ductwork/piping systems and motors that are exposed to floor traffic according to the latest VACO guidelines. "Perform all construction, demolition and calibration in accordance to the requirements of VA Specification Section 11 41 21 Walk-In Coolers and Freezers", and in accordance with all related VACO requirements. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price contract in accordance with all terms, conditions, provisions, specifications, drawings and schedules of the solicitation, Subject to the Availability of Funds. ? THIS SOLICITATION IS A TOTAL SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE. PROPOSALS WILL ONLY BE CONSIDERED FROM SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES THAT ARE VERIFIED IN VETBIZ AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION OF PROPOSAL AND DATE OF AWARD in accordance with Public Law 109-461. The solicitation will issue and be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on or about 12/12/14. All solicitation packages and amendments must be accessed on line. No Telephone requests will be accepted. Complete electronic solicitation with forms and specifications for submitting a response and to register your name on the bidder's mailing list may be obtained at the following website: www.fbo.gov All amendments issued to this solicitation will also be available at this website and will not be mailed. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments. A ONE-TIME organized pre-proposal site visit will be held and the date and time will be announced in the solicitation when it is posted to FBO on or about 12/05/14. No other information is available until the date of issue. SOLICITATION VA-248-15-R-0242 WILL BE POSTED TO THE ABOVE ADDRESS ON OR ABOUT 12/12/14. All respondents are required to be registered and verified at www.vip.vetbiz.gov and must be registered at www.SAM.gov with complete online Reps and Certs. Vets 100 Registration is also required.
