- Life Technologies J&A The detection capability requiring the Superscript consumable is critical in the DoD's ability to detect the BW agent Ebola; a supply gap caused by the time it would take to prove equivalency of another consumable would otherwise cripple the Department of Defense's Ebola detection capability. In accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(2), as implemented by FAR 6.302-2, Unusual and Compelling Urgency the CRP requests an urgent contract action using other than full and open competition. The action is not available for a limited competition as only Thermo Scientific, Inc sells the proprietary product, SuperScript One-Step RT-PCR System with Platinum Taq DNA Polymerase that has been approved for use by the FDA in the EZ-1 EUA Assay kit.
