Description
Industry Day Exhibit Application Industry Day Schedule Industry Day The Cyber Innovation Center and Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command will host an Industry Day on December 10, 2014, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a reception to follow. All events will be held at the Bossier Civic Center located at 620 Benton Road, Bossier City, Louisiana 71111. With the theme "Innovation in Nuclear Communications," the event's purpose is to seek industry collaboration for new methods to deliver resilient, cost-effective nuclear communications capabilities to the warfighter. The Industry Day will focus on but is not limited to the following four topics: Ground Based Strategic Deterrence post Analysis of Alternatives Way-Ahead : Additional studies and industry engagements are necessary to inform system-level approaches for Nuclear Command and Control, Nuclear Command, Control and Communications and Weapon System Command and Control in terms of architecture conceptual approach, cybersecurity, and trusted networks to meet present and future warfighter needs. Modernizing Legacy Communications Capabilities : Missile Alert Facilities currently operate on original copper infrastructure, which has limited expansion ability and offers no fail-over capability for voice/data communication. Additionally, the end terminal equipment operates at the top end of current bandwidth capability which limits future system modernization efforts. An example would be Secure Wireless Solutions which would provide capability similar to our nation's senior leaders who have a "Wireless Ecosystem." Hardened Power Options: Technology that will support mobile and fixed communications systems must meet technical standards and design objectives for High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) protection of ground-based fixed facilities or nodes in a HEMP-hardened network performing critical, time-urgent command, control, communications, computers and intelligence missions. Robust Survivable Communications : Provide NC3 systems with robust, hardened, assured, unbroken, redundant, survivable, secure, and enduring attributes capable of ensuring connectivity through all phases of a nuclear contested environment. Industry and academia may apply to participate in the following ways: Briefings: Abstracts from industry and academia will be accepted in response to the four topics listed above. Abstracts should be 500 words or less and should not include any affiliation information so that your abstract is able to receive a blind review. Abstracts should be submitted electronically as a pdf by Monday, November 17, 2014, to joann.marshall@cyberinnovationcenter.org. Applicants will be notified on Monday, November 24, 2014, if their papers are accepted for a briefing at Industry Day. Briefings to AFGSC leadership on December 10, 2014, will be conducted in private sessions. Please see the tentative Industry Day schedule linked on this page for more information regarding the structure of the event. Exhibits: Industry and academia may host exhibits that are relevant to the purpose and theme of Industry Day. Space is limited. A 10' x 10' area with an 8 ft. table, two chairs, blue pipe and drape on the sides and back, a trash can, and electricity will be provided at no charge. Or, industry and academia may provide their own 10' x 10' exhibit at their own expense. Please complete the Industry Day Exhibit Application and return it by Monday, November 17, 2014, to joann.marshall@cyberinnovationcenter.org. Exhibitors will not attend the AFGSC briefings. Please see the tentative Industry Day schedule linked on this page for more information regarding the structure of the event.
