- Description
- The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) St. Paul District intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for replacement of dam feeder cables at Lock and Dam no. 2 located near Hastings, MN. The project involves the removal and replacement of Dam Feeder No. 1 (DF1A & DF1B) and Dam Feeder No. 2 (DF2A and DF2B) parallel cables. Work will include, but will not be limited to, removing and replacing sections of the approximate 5,000 linear feet of armored cables between the Central Control Station to the transfer switch on the dam. Work will also involve dewatering the landward lock crossover ductbank; excavation of sediment to install cable in crossover between landward and riverward lock; excavation of sediment for wet installation of the cables within the riverward lock by divers; and conducting operational/performance tests. No lock and dam operations shall be impacted by the Contractor's operations during the course of construction. The work will involve close coordination with the Lock and Dam staff. The estimated completion date is June 2015. This procurement is a total small business set-aside and will result in a firm-fixed-price contract. The estimated price is between $250,000 and $500,000. The appropriate NAICS code is 238210 with a small business size standard of $15.0 million. The solicitation will be available on the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov) on or around 12 November 2014.
