THE SHIPPING CONTAINER SHALL BE IAW FED SPEC ASTM D5118 AND ASTM D1974. THE COMPLETE LINE ITEM SHALL FIT THE CONTAINER OR BE FITTED WITH SUFFICIENT BLOCKING TO PREVENT SHIFTING DURING SHIPPING AND HANDLING. ALL COMPONENTS THAT MAKE UP THIS LINE ITEM, INCLUDING MOUNTING HARDWARE MUST BE PLACED IN THE CONTAINER AND SECURED IN SUCH A MANNER THAT PIECES DO NOT BECOME SEPARATED. IN THE EVENT AN ITEM (AS DEFINED BY THE UNIT OF ISSUE) WILL NOT PHYICALLY FIT INTO ONE CONTAINER, ADDITIONAL SHIPPING CONTAINERS (MEETING REQMTS STATED ABOVE) SHALL BE USED. PRESERVATION: (FOR FINISHED FURNITURE ONLY) THE ONLY PRESERVATION THAT SHOULD BE REQUIRED WOULD BE AS NEEDED TO PROTECT ANY FINISHED SURFACE FROM SCRATCHES OR DAMAGE RESULTING FROM CONTACT WITH INTERNAL BLOCKING OR BRACING OR ANYTHING INSIDE THE SHIPPING CONTAINER. MARKINGS: EACH CONTAINER OR BOX SHALL BE MARKED WITH: ITEM NAME, STOCK NUMBER, MFG PART NO., CAGE, CONTRACT NUMBER AND QTY OF SAME LINE ITEMS PACKED IN THE SAME SHIPPING CONTAINER AND DATE PRINTED IN BLACK BLOCK LETTERS MIN 1" HIGH. Pricing is requested on an F.O.B. Destination basis. Shipping costs shall be included in the price of the item. Delivery is required on or before 11/24/14. Please submit your proposed delivery information for each line item. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format outlined in FAC 71 and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The following FAR Clauses apply to this solicitation. This requirement is being synopsized as a set aside for Small Business competitive acquisition under NAICS code 331313. The Small Business Size Standard is 1000. The resultant purchase order will be awarded using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR 13.5. It is anticipated that a competitive purchase order shall be awarded as a result of this synopsis/solicitation. EVALUATION Award shall be made without discussions unless the Contracting Officer determines discussions are necessary. Quotations received in response to this synopsis/solicitation shall be evaluated on a best value basis utilizing the following technical, price and price-related factors: (a) Meets minimum specification requirements (b) Estimated price (c) Past performance All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the Agency. Companies must have valid DUNS numbers and be registered with SAM (www.sam.gov) and shall provide the company Tax Information Number (TIN) with their offer.
