- Description
- The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requires a renewal of the cable TV services for the One White Flint North, Two White Flint North and Church Street Buildings. The NRC uses cable TV services to provide the agency access to broadcasts that directly affect the implementation of the policies and programs for the agency's response to incidents involving licensed facilities and materials. This service provides access to information that assists in keeping senior management informed of publib interest in and news coverage of NRC regulatory activities. Comcast Cable TV is the only service that can provide such services as required to provide NRC access to local, state, national, and international news, government information and public affairs programming that affect the agency mission and personnel located in the Washington Metropolitan area. Market research was conducted to determine the service providers that are available and compatible with NRC requirements and infrastructure. Only Comcast of Potomac LLC can fulfill all of NRC's requirements. To ensure that the price to the Government for these services was fair and reasonable, a separate price analysis was performed by the Contracting Officer before the award was made. The NRC Acquisition Management Division will closely monitor requirements for any subsequent acquisitions to ensure that any restrictions to competition are adequately justified and to ensure that competitive procedures are used to the maximum extent practicable.
