- NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support invites you to join us on Thursday, October 2, 2014 for an Industry Day in Philadelphia, PA. Over the past four years, the Department of Defense has not met its competition goals. The Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) leadership has addressed this issue by promulgating two key pieces of guidance including an OSD policy letter and guidelines for building competitive acquisition. The agenda will cover a range of topics designed to solicit your input on how to best create a competitive environment that will facilitate innovation, improve quality and performance, lower cost, and decrease performance based logistics (PBL) award timelines. You can expect to be addressed by senior leadership in an effort to solicit ideas to help us achieve the aforementioned environment. A draft agenda is listed below: -Opening remarks -Aviation Operations Perspective -PBL Center of Excellence Strategy Presentation -Fleet Readiness Center Southeast Overview Presentation -Closing remarks The Industry Day will kick off at 8:00 a.m. on the 3rd floor of Building 1 in the Management Information Center (MIC) and end promptly at noon.
