- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. This is a notice of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's (BEP) intent to solicit and award a sole source procurement set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation wherein circumstances of the contract action deem only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. The purpose of the requirement is to establish an award under FAR Subpart 6.3 for Caustic Soda for the BEP's Eastern Currency Facility and Western Currency Facility. The BEP intends to award this contract to Maryland Chemical Company, 3310 Childs Street, Baltimore, MD 21226. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit documentation that clearly demonstrates their ability to provide the Caustic Soda needed by the BEP. Responses to this notice shall be received no later than 1:00 PM Eastern Time September 25, 2014. All responses must be in writing and are to be sent via email to Carol Pope at carol.pope@bep.gov and copy Kathleen Barton at kathleen.barton@bep.gov. NOTHING HEREIN SHOULD BE MISCONSTRUED AS A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS, QUOTES OR BIDS. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENTATION IS AVAILABLE NOR WILL BE ISSUED.
