Description

The Salem VAMC in Salem, VA intends to intends to solicit and award a firm fixed price, sole source purchase order to Alcon laboratories, INC, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency requirements. Alcon Laboratories, Inc. is the sole source provider of the Centurion Vision System and twelve Autosert IOL Injector hand pieces. Alcon Laboratories is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the Centurion Vision System. The Centurion Vision System includes the following proprietary functions but not limited to: OZil IP, Active Fluidics, and the INTREPID Autosert IOL Injector Handpiece. Only the Centurion Vision System incorporates these technologies and each is proprietary to the Centurion Vision System. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Specialist no later than 9/12/2014 @ 10:00am. Responses should be sent to amy.pitts@va.gov. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
