- Description
- The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (Corporation) plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for a contractor to upgrade the lighting and make improvements to the power distribution system at the Eisenhower Lock Highway Tunnel in Massena, New York. The work shall include the removal of 164 fluorescent lighting fixtures located on both sides and the centerline of the tunnel ceiling and all associated power distribution equipment including conduit, wiring, hangars, etc. and the installation of 92 new LED lighting fixtures located on one side of the tunnel ceiling and all associated power distribution equipment including conduit, wiring, hangars, etc. The work shall also include the installation of new underground power distribution feeders between the tunnel and Eisenhower Lock. The tunnel is approximately 480 feet long and a single lane of traffic must remain open at all times during the project. All work shall be completed by June 1, 2015. The IFB is now available for purchase with a response date of September 29, 2014. The cost range is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. This is a total small business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation. Prospective bidders may purchase the CD of drawings and specifications for a $20 non-refundable fee by check payable to the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation, 180 Andrews Street, Massena, NY 13662, or by debit or credit card at www.pay.gov and selecting the miscellaneous payment form under the Saint Lawrence Seaway. NAICS Code: 238210, Size Standard: $15.0M. Firms must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov to be eligible for award. The Department of Transportation (DOT) Short Term Lending Program (STLP) offers financial assistance to eligible disadvantaged, Hubzone, or service disabled veteran owned businesses. Maximum line of credit is $750,000.00 with a variable interest tied to the prime rate as published in the Wall Street Journal.
