- Description
- The National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIH/NIAID) in support of Vaccine Research Center (VRC) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition with Life Technologies, Inc. for laboratory supplies. Life Technologies is the only known vendor that supplies the 293Expi media and its associated reagents. This will be a firm-fixed price contract in accordance with the statutory authority for this sole source requirement 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 only one source available, no substitutions possible, and the current chemical formula is the one now being used for the duration of the experiments in progress. The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-74, dated July 1, 2014. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 325414, which has a size standard of 500. This is not a request for proposal. All responsible sources who can show capability to supply this expression media and its associated reagents may submit a proposal with a statement of capabilities to indicate product specifications and past performance. All responses will be considered. The Government reserves the right to make a decision whether to this requirement is available for competition. All responses shall be submitted no later than 2:00pm EDST, August 12, 2014.
