- The NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center (FLC), Norfolk, VA, 23511-3392 Contracting Department intends to issue a firm fixed price contract for the purchase of two magnetometry options, the AC Susceptibility Option (ACMS II) and the Vibrating Sample Magnetometer Option (VSM) utilizing procedures under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition. The required supplies are for the United States Naval Academy ™s Physics Laboratory located in Annapolis, MD. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Quantum Design, Inc. located at 6325 Lusk Blvd. San Diego, CA 92121. The authority for use of other than full and open competition is FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The anticipated delivery date is 30 days after award of the contract. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this procurement is 334516. The size standard is $15.0 million. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all bids, proposals, or quotations received by the closing response date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
