- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE-SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The intent of this Special notice is for informational purposes only. The USDA-ARS-NCAUR-PEORIA, IL intends to award a sole source procurement to Werner Mathis USA P.O. Box 1626, Concord, NC 28026, pursuant to the authority of 41 U.S.C 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will satisfy Agency Requirements. The award will be for an additional BFA-12 Version 200°C Beaker Dyeing Apparatus manufactured by Werner Mathis USA to be used in the Bioenergy Research Unit in Peoria, IL. The Beaker Dyeing Apparatus will be added to an existing project that is currently using 1 Beaker Dyeing Apparatus of the same model. The new Beaker Dyeing Apparatus must be completely compatible and interchangeable with the existing micro reactor. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price Purchase Order for the supplies on or about July 7, 2014, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This Notice of Intent is not considered a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a Request for Proposals (RFP). No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The government will consider all responses received by 12pm local time, August 7, 2014. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no written responses are received after the publication of this notice, the purchase will be awarded without further notice.
