- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS/QUOTES NOTICE OF INTENT: Department of the Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, 94th Contracting Flight, 1538 Atlantic Avenue, Dobbins Air Reserve Base, (ARB), Georgia (GA), 30069-4824 intends to solicit and award a sole source purchase order to Comcast Corporation, 1824 East Expressway N.E, Atlanta, GA 30329. This requirement is for a contractor to provide monthly Cable Television Services for Dobbins ARB Lodging/Inn only. Dobbins Lodging/Inn consist of a minimum of 213 locations in 4 facilities. This contractual action is a Sole Source Firm Fixed Price (FFP) price purchase order with Comcast Corporation to continue providing Cable Television Services to Dobbins ARB, GA on an interim basis while AFPC/SVOLT continues to work a services wide initiative for all Air Force Lodging facilities. Comcast Corporation is the incumbent contractor and is currently providing cable television services to the Dobbins Inn. Comcast Cable is providing all of the cable, boxes and equipment under an existing contract. Replacing the existing cable television service with another cable or digital provider would be extremely time consuming, costly and would require new infrastructure to include re-cabling each facility. Comcast Cable is the only known source that can fulfill this requirement for this short period. This is a nonappropriated fund purchase and it does not obligate appropriated funds of the United States Government. Nonappropriated funds are generated by the military community through the sale of goods and services and the collection of fees and charges for participation in military community programs. This purchase does not involve federal tax dollars." The period of performance for this action is 1 October 2014 - 30 September 2015. The authority for this sole source purchase order to Comcast Corporation is FAR 13-106-1; Simplified Purchase. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 517110 (Wired Telecommunications Carriers) and the Small Business Standard Size is 1,500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals and no solicitation is available. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement, based upon the responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this announcement. Offerors may contact the point of contact listed for information pertaining to this requirement. Offerors may identify their interest and submit a capability statement by providing a response within 10 calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis. NO VERBAL REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
