- NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is hereby requesting information from industry to assist in determination and development of acquisition strategies for potential procurements requiring utilization of vehicles in support of Government requirements. In order to accurately and adequately understand the probable cost of vehicle leasing to the government information that provides cost data on vehicle leasing is needed to develop precise estimates to compared to the rates available through the General Services Administration (GSA). Through this comparison activity, the goal is to identify the best value approach to the Government. Requested Information: The government requests cost information regarding the leasing rates of a variety of vehicles to include general purpose vehicles (sedans), light and heavy trucks, box trucks, cargo vans, and flatbed trailers. Please identify: Vehicle equivalents and/or other available vehicle types where applicable and provide supporting documentation when appropriate Additional fees End of lease purchase price of each type of vehicle Inclusive roles and responsibilities of the leaser and lease-holder Minimum lease period Mileage restrictions Assumptions: Vehicles are generally operated locally, within the confines of the KSC Bulk lease discounts may be available Alternative Fuel or Flex fuel vehicles are preferred but not required Estimated annual miles driven provided in attached document by vehicle type No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Response Instructions: The requested responses are for information and planning purposes only. NASA does not intend to post information or questions received to any website or public access location. NASA does not plan to reply to the individual responses, and respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Feedback to this synopsis may be utilized in formulating the Governments acquisition strategy and documents. Provide information requested above to include completion of the table in the attached document. All responses should be provided electronically in Microsoft Office compatible document format. Responses should not exceed 5 pages (format: 8.5 x 11, and should reference NNK14ZOW001L. For purposes of this synopsis, please provide your responses no later than 12:00 PM EST, August 11, 2014, to Edwin Martinez, Contracting Officer, NASA/KSC Procurement Office at Edwin.Martinez-1@nasa.gov. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited.
