- So that NRC can finalize its competitive acquisition that is currently underway for the follow-on contract to Contract No. NRC-16-09-451 (see (https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=dd84a728b15529cd21f352057220e658&tab=core&tabmode=list), the NRC's Office of Administration, Acquisition Management Division intends to negotiate and award a 6-month extension to Contract No. NRC-16-09-451 with Bulletin News, LLC. The 6-month extension, covering the period of September 1, 2014 through February 28, 2015, will allow for continuation of highly important daily electronic news clip services that NRC obtains under the current contract until the award is made for the solicitation that is currently under competition. The statutory authority permitting the extension is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. No source other than the incumbent can satisfy this short-term need until the source selection decision is made for the new contract award, and not extending the current contract would result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements.
