- Brand Name Justification-Redacted Combined Synopsis / Solicitation The connectors and backshells that are specified in this combined synopsis / solicitation are required to maintain the Pacer Comet 4 (PC4) jet engine test system. The PC4 System connects between the engine test cell and the engine providing control and data acquisition that is vital in proving the accuracy and reliability of Air Force engines before they are installed on an aircraft. The cabling necessary for the communication of engine signals from the engine to the test cell are installed in a harsh environment where there are high temperatures, strenuous mechanical vibrations, and corrosive chemicals. The materials specified in these brand name specific connectors and backshells have been proven to work under these tough conditions.
