- Description: The Army Contracting Command-Rock Island (ACC-RI), on behalf of The U.S. Army Office of the Project Manager for Maneuver Ammunition Systems, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, is currently seeking sources for the production of 9mm M917A1 Dummy, Drilled, & Inert (DDI) cartridges, DODIC: AB45. The 9mm M917A1 DDI is an inert (non-energetic) dummy round used as an ammunition training aid for weapon familiarization in the M9 9mm and M11 9mm pistols. The M917A1 DDI ammunition is nickel plated, and contains a drilled hole for easy recognition to distinguish the dummy ammunition visually from tactical ammunition. This is a training unique item not used in combat. Specifications: The DDI SAA will be produced in accordance with: a. MIL-DTL-3498, quote mark CARTRIDGE, DUMMY (For Small Arms) quote mark ; b. AMS2404 Rev G, quote mark Plating, Electroless Nickel quote mark ; c. Government Drawings: 13023601 quote mark COAI, CARTRIDGE, 9MM, DUMMY, M917A1 quote mark and 13023602 quote mark CARTRIDGE, 9MM, DUMMY, M917A1 quote mark. Planned Acquisition: The anticipated requirement is for the manufacture and delivery of 200,000-250,000 9mm M917A1 (AB45) cartridges in 4QFY16. The Government plans to award Firm Fixed Price contract for this one-time buy. Submission Information: All responsible interested sources are encouraged to submit their capability/qualification data with regard to the above, no later than 30 days from the date of this notice to: U.S. Army Contracting Center, Attn: CCFC-AF ATTN: Sue Burton, Rock Island Arsenal, IL 61299or at sue.a.burton.civ@mail.mil. Please include company name, address, telephone number, and technical point of contact, brochures/literature/test data. Firms interested in the production of the 9mm M917A1 DDI should adequately describe their experience in Electroless Plating and systems contracting. Interested sources shall also submit any backup data to support claims that their production process will conform to the above mentioned drawing requirements. In addition, the ability and past experience related to acting as a prime contractor to inspect, handle, package, and ship the necessary components shall be provided.
