The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Northwest Mountain Region, Western Service Area, is seeking qualified contractors to submit offers to perform all work necessary for the installation of a Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) and the removal/demolition of the existing Visual Approach Slope Indicator (VASI) equipment serving runway 31R at the Reid-Hillview Airport in San Jose, California. This project is being set aside for small businesses. Small businesses competing for this contract must certify their status on the Business Declaration form inserted following Part IV, Section K. SEDB 8(a) and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses are encouraged to submit offers. The NAICS code for this project is: 237130 - Power and Communication Line and Related Structures Construction with a size standard of $36.5 million. Estimated cost is between $50,000 and $100,000. The following is a general summary of the work: Installation of runway 31R PAPI -Installation of the PAPI Power and Control Station -Installation of LHA's (Light Housing Assemblies) -Installation of the power service for the PAPI -Installation of the maintenance areas for the PAPI Removal/Demolition of the existing VASI -Removal of all above ground structures, foundations, pull boxes, and underground conduit and cabling -Restoration of site to match surrounding grade, compaction, and condition -Proper disposal of all material The dimensions, measurements, and quantity of materials listed in the specifications and on the construction drawings are estimated and are presented to give the contractor an idea of the scope of work. See Section C - Scope of Work, drawings, and specifications for additional requirements. If the demand exists, A SITE VISIT FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 5TH, at 12:00 NOON (PDT). Contact Project Engineer, Bob Brown, at (303)809-6525 to register. OFFERORS MUST BE REGISTERED BY 4:00 p.m. FRIDAY, AUGUST 1, 2014, in order to attend. Attendance is not required to submit an offer. All work must be completed within 14 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The NTP is expected to be issued within 3 weeks after the notice of contract award, or as arranged by the FAA Project Engineer. Contractors who desire an interpretation or clarification of the specifications, drawings, contract terms and conditions, etc., must submit their request via email to Cindi.Tjelde@faa.gov.
