Description
**This is a Request for Information (RFI) in accordance with FAR 15.201 (b). THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. This is NOT a request for contractual offers. RFIs are used to gather information from industry without any promise of a current or future contract or requirement. Information provided cannot be used to create a binding contract. Respondents to the RFI will not be reimbursed for the information provided to HQ ACC.** General Hostage, the Commander of Air Combat Command and Major General Zobrist, the Director of Plans, Programs, and Requirements, will host the ACC West Coast Air Superiority Innovation Summit on 27 Aug 2014 at the NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, Mountain View, California. The Innovation Summit seeks participants from academia, research organizations, and industry. The theme of the event is "Technologies Enabling Air Superiority in 2030." The Summit provides the opportunity for General Hostage and key Air Force leaders to discuss the future threat environment and air superiority challenges, as well as highlight existing enabling technology research efforts, and ways to bring ideas forward to DoD. The location was selected to take advantage of the proximity to the Silicon Valley companies and academic institutions. General Hostage hopes the information provided will help participants identify innovative ideas/approaches and emerging technologies to address the challenges. NOTE: Pre-registration is required (info below) and final registration for the event will be conducted on 27 August 2014 from 0730-0830 PST in Bldg 152 in the NASA Ames complex. We are asking attendees to be seated by 0845 for Gen Hostage's arrival. The summit will run from 0900-1630 PST, 27 August 2014. 0900-1200 - Unclassified presentations on the future threat environment and air superiority challenges; a panel on "Ways to Bring Innovation to DoD" with representatives from PEO Fighters/Bombers, Air Force Research Lab, and DARPA; and presentation on Presidential Initiatives to stimulate materials and photonics. 1200-1315 - Lunch on your own (Box lunches will be available to order) 1315-1630 - Unclassified presentations on DoD, Air Force, and NASA enabling technology research efforts including position, navigation, and timing and hypersonics as well as an opportunity for questions and answers. NOTE: Although the facility should accommodate everyone that wants to attend, seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. If required, the maximum number of attendees per organization will be determined by organization size. Organizations will be able to adjust their specific attendees within the max number allowed prior to RSVP closeout date. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED - Attendance for US citizens and US permanent residents only. Attendees must preregister for the Innovation Summit to ensure access to NASA Ames facility and conference attendance. After registering, you will receive an electronic welcome package with information about the event.
