- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Remove the existing cast iron piping and replace it with schedule 40 PVC drain pipe. The fittings shall be glued sanitary type. It is the intent to leave the existing floor drains in place and cut the existing pipe approximately 6 inches below the ceiling level and then connect the new PVC pipe to the remaining cast iron pipe with a flexible pipe coupler. The work shall be done in stages so that the piping that is not being worked on remains a functional drain system. It is the intent to re-use the existing pipe hangers.
