Description
THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT AND NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Illumina, Inc., San Diego, CA 92121, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Award is subject to Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition (JOFOC) approval. This procurement is for the procurement of Illumina HumanMethylation450 DNA Analysis BeadChip Kit (96 samples). The following items are required for procurement of this requirement. 1) WG-314-1002-HumanMethylation450 DNA Analysis BeadChip Kit (96 samples), quantity of (20 each). These sequencing reagents are required for the continuity of research in the NIEHS DIR EBP LMG. To support ongoing research, the laboratory requires Illumina HumanMethylation450K DNA arrays for human methylation analysis of a bladder cancer case control study. These BeadChip arrays with reagents are used to perform experiments that measure methylation changes in the human genome. The Illumina BeadChips have the highest density of methylation probes on the market. They are the only methylation arrays that can be scanned on the lab's Illumina scanner. Methylation data from the chosen product has to be 100% compatible with previous methylation studies. These arrays are proprietary to Illumina and can only be purchased from Illumina. Ordering from another source would compromise experiments and compromise the integrity of data. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Purchasing Agent at the address stated below. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 9 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 9 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Illumina, Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 325998/500. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items There is no solicitation package available. For any questions regarding this announcement, please contact Valarie K. Sims via email sims3@niehs.nih.gov.*****
